Post Exam Reflection

CIPS Exams are finally over! Life can return to normality but a few criticisms.

Learning Support

  • Lack of support and awareness of who else is studying CIPS in the Government sector. Our study group was organised through contacts and word of mouth. This gave us a forum to bounce ideas off each other and share our experiences which can be used as examples for exam questions.
  • Procurement Academy. While it's great there is something out there, however, the general consensus was the support provided was pretty minimal.

CIPS Exam Process

  • Time it takes to get results. By the time we get the May results, the July exam series has past.
  • CIPS don't return exam papers, so its difficult to know where you went wrong. While the PM reports can be useful, the quality of feedback varies.
  • ID cards. CIPS seems to have stopped issuing the cards.

Exam Content

  • Exam question lottery. There is a lot of content to cover and because there only 4 questions, its bit of lottery of what goes into the exam.

On the flipside, I have made some good friends and learnt a lot through the process.
